With a truly global outlook, State of the Left’s coverage draws upon an established network of expert commentators from over 30 different countries, commissioned and curated from our London hub.

Together they chart the latest developments facing centre-left parties across Europe, the Americas, Australasia and beyond. As well as keeping tabs on electoral fortunes, they offer analysis on the policies and personalities that determine the political fate of the centre left.

Our aim is to promotes critical debate and reflection on progressive politics. We are centre-left orientated but determinedly challenge social democracy. We are pro-European but restlessly question EU institutions and practices. And we are passionately Atlanticist and internationalist in our outlook but understand that all politics is local.

State of the Left is powered by Policy Network, the international ideas exchange for progressives.
